Tourism that gives back more than it takes
Sustainability sits at the core of EIHTAA's mission. We actively advocate for eco-friendly and responsible tourism practices that preserve the heritage, environment and culture of Eastern India's districts for generations to come.
At our 2023 Annual General Meeting in Lataguri, Dooars, members and stakeholders held a detailed discussion on developing tourism in the peripheral districts of North Bengal — with an emphasis on community participation, sustainable practices, local livelihoods and responsible destination development. That conversation continues to shape how EIHTAA approaches every district it works in.

Ensuring local communities are decision-makers and direct beneficiaries, not bystanders.
Heritage & Culture Protection
Safeguarding historic sites, crafts, cuisine and living traditions across every district.
Responsible Travel Guidelines
Helping members set clear standards for visitor conduct, waste management and wildlife respect.
